Disruptive Behavior

Disruptive behavior may be displayed as ongoing uncooperative, defiant, and hostile actions toward authority figures or others that seriously impacts a person’s ability to function on a daily basis. Disruptive behavior in the workplace can interfere with the operation and flow of the workplace. It may hinder or prevent employees from carrying out their workplace responsibilities. Under the ADA, employers can expect the same standard of behavior from all employees, even those with disabilities. However, the employer would be required to consider accommodations that would help the employee with a disability meet the behavior or conduct standard.
