Description:
Accommodations provide equal opportunity and social inclusion for people with disabilities and, if respectfully provided, can create an inclusive event, meeting, and/or training. Although social inclusion can pose challenges and appear daunting, utilizing resources and assistive technologies can enable employers to create a diverse an inclusive event while maintaining compliance with federal law. Social inclusion increases morale, ensures employees have the same access to workplace benefit and tools, and creates opportunities for development and advancement as non-disabled employees. This session will introduce a framework for inclusive event planning and suggestions for individualized accommodations.
