Healthcare

A service sector that is commonly the source of job accommodations is healthcare. The jobs in this sector are varied, but often accommodations involved those who are in direct patient care.  Numerous types of equipment are available to accommodate those with motor, mobility, hearing, vision, and cognitive losses who work in healthcare. For these types of situations, a job accommodation may involve modifying the way an essential job function is typically done and can include purchasing one or more pieces of equipment. Here are some examples of equipment that JAN suggests for these situations. For additional information, visit JAN's other resources under A to Z and use JAN's Searchable Online Accommodation Resource (SOAR) or contact JAN directly for what you are needing.

For additional information on JAN case studies related to these fields, see JAN's Accommodating Employees in Health Care Fields and Accommodating Employees in Science, Technology, Engineering, & Math (STEM) Fields.
