Organization Details

Organization: Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program, Department of Defense

About:

The Department of Defense’s (DoD) Computer/Electronic Accommodations Program (CAP) is a centrally funded program established to provide reasonable accommodations to qualified federal applicants and employees with disabilities. CAP provides computer/electronic assistive technology (AT) and services, as reasonable accommodations, to DoD employees with disabilities and wounded, ill or injured Service members. CAP's mission is to ensure DoD employees have equal opportunity and access to information and communication technology in the DoD work environment. CAP is an important resource to attain knowledge, assessments, products, services, devices and support services for DoD civilians and Service members. CAP is available to provide in-person or virtual needs assessments to all federal employees to assist with identifying the most appropriate assistive technology devices and/or employment support services. The needs assessment process assists individuals in learning about their medical condition, job requirements, and how their condition may impact their ability to perform core job functions. This information will be used to identify and recommend the most appropriate assistive technology and support services.
