Alternative Format (Braille, large print, audio, text)

Alternative format is a term used to describe the re-creation of documents to make them accessible. Alternative formats include:

  • Braille: A tactile system of cells and dots.
  • Audio: Can be in some type of audio form (usually MP3) with computer or human voice.
  • Text: Any document that can be viewed in digital form, including Microsoft Word, Portable Document Format (PDF), PowerPoint, and Excel Spreadsheets.
  • Large Print: Print enlargement on paper with minimum 18 point font size, unless otherwise specified.
