Accessible and Usable Facilities

Accessible and usable facilities is a term of art that encompasses two different areas of the Americans with Disabilities Act. First, if you have questions about the technical aspects of building layouts, you need to access information on the standards for accessible design. You can find what you need in JAN's ADA Library related to the different titles of the ADA, the Uniform Federal Accessibility Standards, and other checklists and technical assistant documents. Second, and as for job accommodations, there is a variety of equipment available to assist with making facilities accessible and usable by people with disabilities. This is divided into two categories for ease of use: 1) worksites and 2) workstations.
