InvoTek, Inc. is a research and development company that improves the quality of life for people who find it difficult or impossible to use their hands by giving them new, efficient ways to access computers.
AccuPoint is a movement tracking system that enables a person to control a computer even when they cannot use their hands . While most AccuPoint users control the mouse and enter text using head movement, any body movement can be used. AccuPoint tracks a reflective dot cluster that is attached to a person or a piece of clothing using double-sided tape. AccuPoint will track a wide range of movements -- from very small to very large -- while distinguishing tremors from intentional movements. Our Absolute Tracking technology means the computer cursor stays aligned with your head, providing better control and saving you time and energy.
The AT Passport program gives people a way to use technology without having big "up front" costs. There is no time limit -- use it for as long as it is useful to you or until you find funding to buy a unit.
AT Passport is available to qualifying individuals. We cannot offer this program to institutions. A friendly contract is required.
InvoTek has been providing engineering services to people with severe disabilities since it was created in 1988. In the fall of 2011, we were part of the team that created "Be Extraordinary", a 501c3 nonprofit organization that helps people with severe disabilities to achieve a life goal. Below are examples of the projects that we have undertaken to support Be X. Learn more about Be Extraordinary here.
InvoTek engineering services are billed at $75/hour, although this hourly fee can be reduced or waived in some circumstances. Please contact us if you have a disability-related project and need help.
Sometimes all that a person needs to successfully use a computer is less typing! WordPsychic is word prediction software that reduces the amount of typing required to enter text into any Windows-based program. It does this by predicting the word you are typing as you type. After entering each letter, a new list of predicted words is displayed. When you see the word you want in the prediction list (see the above image), just click on it or type the number in the upper right corner. Your word will be inserted into your sentence automatically. Using word prediction can reduce the amount of typing required to enter text in half.
