Step 4: Choose the Accommodation

Working in a Cold Environment

An individual may be sensitive to working in a cold environment. Accommodations include:

Modifying work-site temperatures;
Using heaters at workstations;
Allowing flexible scheduling and flexible use of leave time during inclement weather;
Allowing work from home during extremely cold weather;
Maintaining the ventilation system;
Redirecting air conditioning and heating vents;
Making available heated gloves or cold resistant material and extra clothing; and
Providing work areas with separate temperature control.
