Step 4: Choose the Accommodation
Working in a Cold Environment
An individual may be sensitive to working in a cold environment. Accommodations include:
- Modifying work-site temperatures;
- Using heaters at workstations;
- Allowing flexible scheduling and flexible use of leave time during inclement weather;
- Allowing work from home during extremely cold weather;
- Maintaining the ventilation system;
- Redirecting air conditioning and heating vents;
- Making available heated gloves or cold resistant material and extra clothing; and
- Providing work areas with separate temperature control.
